Collections, locations & buildings

The University Library holds over 2.5 million items in its physical collection and provides online access to over 71,000 electronic journals and to over 150 databases.

The physical collection includes books, journals, microforms, audio-visual material, music scores, rare books and ANU doctoral theses. The collection is distributed across all Library locations on a subject basis. All resources are listed in the catalogue, along with the building in which they are located.

Examples of material in the electronic collection are Web of Knowledge, Science Direct, SciFinder Scholar, ProQuestCentral, Lexis, Westlaw, Literature Online, Chinese Academic Journals Online, the Oxford Dictionary Online and Factiva. The vast majority of these resources are available off campus through the reverse proxy. In most cases you will simply be asked to verify that you are a member of ANU by entering your UniID and password.
