Locating Library Items

To find out whether the Library holds the item you require, consult the Library's online Catalogue (which contains all Library holdings except for some Asian and art and music materials). You can access the ANU Library Catalogue from selected terminals in each of the four major library buildings or from off campus.

The Catalogue will tell you in which library building the item will be found. It may also specify a particular location within the building, such as reference, large books or pamphlets.

Books in the ANU Library are shelved according to the Library of Congress classification, with the exception of the Law Library which uses the Moys classification.

As well as showing the location of ANU Library resources, the Catalogue can be used to:

  • Find information about library services and opening hours
  • If you are a member of ANU or registered as an External Borrower, you can place reservations (holds) on material currently on loan to another borrower
  • If you are a member of ANU or registered as an External Borrower, you can view your current loans and the progress of any items on which you may have placed a reservation

To use INNOPAC effectively, consult Using the Library Catalogue.
