Placing a Hold (Reservation)

1. Bring up the Library catalogue record for the item you wish to recall. There must be a DUE date showing in the Status box of the screen.

2. Click on the Request tab on the top right hand side of screen.

The following prompts will appear:

Your Name - type in your name, then press Tab.

Bar Code - type in the bar code from your student or Library card, then press Tab. (NOTE: Number must have an E at the start and an F at the end, e.g. E70779F).

Enter your password (For students only)

3. Click on Go

4. Click on


REQUEST SELECTED ITEM

Then you will see the message: Your request has been sent to the library.

A recall notice will be sent out the next working day, asking the current borrower to return the item on the new due date (i.e. 10 days from the date the hold was placed).

A notice will be sent to advise you when the item is available for collection (except for 2 day loan items where no notice is sent).

To check on the progress of your reservation:

1. From the main menu of the ANU Library Catalogue choose My library record.

2. At the prompts enter your name and barcode number.

(Students only - enter your password.)

3. Click on Go

4. Items being recalled for you will be listed. Those awaiting collection at the Loans Desk will be marked READY FOR PICKUP.
