How to do your own renewals

Undergraduate Students and External Borrowers

If an item is not overdue and not required by another borrower, you may renew it up to 6 times. Items on 2-day loan may be renewed 3 times. Items borrowed from Art & Music Library materials may only be renewed once. Audio-visual items on 1 week loan may not be renewed.

To renew an item take it to any Loans Desk in the Library or you can renew items yourself from "My library record" from the Library Catalogue.

You cannot renew an item by telephone.

University Staff, Post-graduate and Honours Students

Six monthly loan items may be renewed once. Items from the Art & Music Libraries may be only renewed once. The Chemistry library has 4 week loans for all borrowers so up to 6 renewals are accepted there. Items on 2-day loan may be renewed 3 times. Audio-visual items on 1 week loan may not be renewed.

All Borrowers

If another borrower or the Library places a hold on an item, it will be recalled and you must return it within 10 days of the hold being placed. Penalties will accrue after this time.

 How to do your own renewals

  1. Click on: My library record
  2. Click on: Items Currently Checked Out
  3. Click on: Renew All

Place a tick in the Renew box for individual items,
then click on: Renew Selected Items.
