SciFinder Scholar 2004 Macintosh Client
Macintosh Hardware Requirements
- Computer: an Apple Macintosh or compatible with PowerPC processor
- System 7.6.1 or MacOS 8.x, OS 9.x or OS X operating system (in OS 9 clasic mode).
- Minimum of 15 MB RAM memory; 17 MB RAM or higher recommended
- Hard disk with 30-40 MB of minimum available disk space (this number will vary with different systems and may be larger for larger drives).
- TCP/IP network level to CAS via the Internet, Z39.50 application level connection to CAS through port 210.
- Monitor: 13" or larger color monitor capable of displaying 256 colours.
- Printer: a high-quality graphics printer, e.g., laser or inkjet, is recommended
- Web Browser: Netscape Navigator or Communicator Version 4 or higher or Internet Explorer Version 4 or higher.
To obtain the ANU Macintosh Scifinder Scholar Software
The software for ANU users only is available as follows.
To get the software from a Mac:
Classic
Use the Chooser and connect to: Appletalk zone: ITS Servers File Server: Software Archive.
Connect as Guest.
Folder: Database/SciFinder Scholar 2004
Copy the program to your desktop. Running the program will install SciFinder 2004.
OS X
Using Finder, choose the Go menu and select Connect to Server.
Enter software.anu.edu.au/software as the server you wish to connect to.
Choose to connect as "Guest"
Folder: Database/SciFinder Scholar 2004.
