Electronic journals and databases
Electronic Journals
- Science Electronic Journals available to ANU staff and students.
This page provides a list of Science Electronic Journal Collections, and an alphabetical list of science electronic journal titles.
- ANU Library Catalogue:Lists over 280 electronic journals in the Physical Sciences.
- ScienceDirect(Elsevier) Physics and Astronomy page.
Access over 1500 scientific and technical journals, and register for an email alert service.
- Wiley InterScience - Physics page.
- IEEE's All Society Periodical Package (ASPP)
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers ASPP includes over 100 IEEE titles.
Full text access dates from 1998.
- Virtual Journals in Science and Technology. Developed by the American Institute of Physics and the American Physical Society, each journal provides a collection of relevant papers from a broad range of source journals. Most articles in these "virtual" journals are available in full-text to ANU staff and students. Each journal focuses one of the following research topics: superconductivity,
biological physics, Nanoscale systems, quantum computing & cryptography, and
ultrafast phenomena.
- PROLA - is The American Physical Society's Physical Review Online Archive. PROLA
essentially covers full-text access to APS journals from 1893 to present.
Other E-Resources
- INSPEC
INSPEC is the most comprehensive bibliographic service covering physics, electronics, electrical engineering, communications and computing from 1969.
- Current Contents
This database provides bibliographic data from current issues of the world's leading scholarly research journals in the sciences.
- MathSciNet
MathSciNet provides access to bibliographic data and reviews of mathematical research literature contained in the Mathematical Reviews Database. Dates back to 1940.
- Compendex
This is a bibliographic database of engineering literature containing references to over 5000 engineering journals, conferences and technical reports. Dates from 1970.
- SciFinder Scholar Information page.
SciFinder Schoar is the online equivalent of Chemical Abstracts, being the world's largest database in chemistry, covering biochemistry and chemical engineering. Special software is required to use SciFinder Scholar and is available for download.
- SPIN Web (Searchable Physics Information Notices)
SPIN database provides indexing and abstracting of major American and Russian physics and astronomy journals. The database contains the abstracts of over 80 scientific journals published by the American Institute of Physics and its Member Societies since 1975, and selected articles from other scientific journals. Provides full-text delivery options.
