Requesting an ANU thesis

ANU user requests

To request a thesis:

  • Search for the thesis in the Library Catalogue.
  • Select the required thesis from the search results.
  • Select Request this item.
  • Complete the ANU Thesis Retrieval Service form.

Alternatively, telephone and email requests will be accepted—subject to the above conditions—but a request card must be completed at the Menzies Library Information Desk before you read the thesis.

Thesis retrieval

Online requests must be submitted by 10am or 2pm Monday–Friday and 1.30pm on Saturdays to be collected at the next pick-up.

Theses are retrieved at 10.30am and 2.30pm Monday–Friday, and at 1.45pm Saturday—please allow 10–15 minutes for retrieval. Thesis are held at the Menzies Information Desk for seven days only.

Requesters will be notified ONLY if there is a problem with the request.

Non-ANU requesters

ANU theses are not available for inter-library loan, but non-ANU institutions or individuals may be able to purchase a copy subject to author permissions, access restrictions, and your acceptance of copyright conditions.

Cost per copy

  • Australian request—$90.00 (including GST & postage)
  • Overseas request—$90.00 (including overseas postage)

Prepayment is required by individuals, however institutions may pay on invoice or by credit card.

Only PDF format copies on a CD are supplied.
