A new exhibition highlighting the variety and depth of artworks held within the Australian National University Archives has been launched.
Archives are usually collected as a record of our lives and work, and are not often thought of as art. This exhibition makes us think differently about the artistic value of archives. It includes works by notable photographers, artists, as well as artistic records of Australian companies.
The exhibition showcases a wide variety of material including trade union banners, department store catalogues, advertising material, posters, paintings, architectural drawings, sketches and photographs.
Items are on display in the ANU Archives Reading Room in the Menzies Library and online.
