Update: The ANU Library will not charge late fees during the ACT lockdown. If you have material due during this time and are unable to return it, you will not be charged any late fees.
Everyone has been affected in some way by COVID-19. Whether you are back on campus or unable to get here due to border restrictions, this has been a time of heightened stress for all.
The ANU Library is committed to ensuring ANU staff and students have the best possible stress-free services. This includes evaluating our system around late fees, as we recognise that returning material to the library may be difficult and that concerns over late fees can affect your mental health.
To help reduce stress this semester, the ANU Library will continue to do everything possible to make material available in the form that best meets your needs. To achieve this, the following changes have been put into place:
Library fines waived
During Semester 2 until the end of exams (20 November 2021), the ANU Library will waive overdue library fines*. If you have ordinary collection material that is overdue, you can return it without incurring any charge.
If you need material that someone else has on loan, the item will be recalled. If you have the item, please show compassion to others by returning your titles, where safe and practical, within 10 days of the recall notice. If you are having trouble meeting that timeframe, please speak to library staff.
*Fines will still apply for two-hour and two-day loans; recalled items; and lost or destroyed items.
If you are unable to return books to campus due to border restrictions, please contact the ANU Library via phone or email to arrange for alternative delivery. If items must be returned via post, please save your receipt and send to the ANU Library for reimbursement (by prior arrangement only).
If you would like to discuss any matter pleased do not hesitate to contact library staff at email@example.com or phone 02 6125 9577. The ANU Library is here to help you.
