Celebrate Science Week at our pop-up MakerSpace!

National Science Week is Australia’s annual celebration of all things science and technology. It provides an opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of scientists, researchers and innovators to the world of knowledge, and get people excited about science.

The ANU Library is collaborating with the ANU MakerSpace to host a pop-up makerspace in the Hancock Library to help celebrate Science Week! Staff from the ANU MakerSpace will be running fun and unique sessions for you to drop into, including:

  • Badge Making – Monday 12 August, 2 – 3pm
    • Rachael will be pressing badges and magnets celebrating science! Drop by the learn how to make badges, and design your own.
    • Drop in sessions will take under five minutes
  • Getting started with 3D printing – Wednesday 14 August, 10:30 – 11:30am
    • Jordan will run an instructional session to teach you how to slice, print and troubleshoot 3D printing. No prior knowledge required!
  • Soft circuits and eTextiles – Thursday 15 August, 3 – 4pm
    • Saskia will guide you on how to design and sew basic electronic circuits into fabric with conductive thread.
    • Drop in sessions will take around 15-20 minutes

Sessions are being held on Level 1 of the Hancock Library, near the entrance.
