Changes to the Chifley Library – better access to Kambri

22 July 2019

Good news everyone - the Chifley Library will soon be easier to access from Kambri!

A new entry door to the J.B Chifley Library will open on Tuesday 30 July, which will provide greater access to and from the Kambri precinct via the bridge. Please note that the old entrance will be closed to students from that date.

We will also have improved service areas with these changes to the library layout:

  • the information desk, self-check machines, and AskANU IT Desk have been moved to accommodate the new entryway
  • the hot water tap has been relocated to Level 3
  • the lockers on Level 2 are in the process of being moved
  • the old return chute will close, and there will be a new one at the Kambri entrance.

This project signals the start of new and exciting changes to Chifley. Work is continuing on the renovations to Level 1, which will open up more than 200 new student seating spaces. These new study spaces will have individual, group study areas and new amenities.

We would like to thank everyone for their continued patience with the construction noise, as we continue to make improvements to the ANU Library.

If you have particular access needs, or any questions or concerns, please speak to the library staff at the information desk or email library.info@anu.edu.au
