In response to student feedback, and as part of ANU Library’s focus on improving services by providing additional quiet and collaborative study spaces on campus, a major refurbishment of Chifley Library Level 3 was undertaken to enable 24/7 access. Level 3 has been refreshed with BYO device spaces and an extra 50 seats, providing students and staff with 24-hour access to a safe and comfortable study area on campus.
University Librarian Roxanne Missingham said students face time pressures when trying to balance work, study and family commitments, so the decision to expand 24-hour access in Chifley Library addresses the need for more flexible and accessible learning spaces on campus. She thanked Facilities and Services staff and Meredith Duncan, Branch Manager, Chifley Library, for their extraordinary commitment, work and patience throughout the renovation.
The new library floor includes fabulous furniture and a range of spaces – and don’t forget the extra 50 seats!
ANU staff and students can access Level 2 and 3 in Chifley Library after opening hours using their ID card.
