As part of ANU Library’s commitment to improving services, Hancock Library is now open 24/7.
Many of you will have noticed the minor building works taking place in September. This was to prepare Hancock for being open 24/7.
University Librarian Roxanne Missingham says this is an important expansion to ANU Library services.
“Students are often faced with pressures when trying to balance their work, study and family commitments. The decision to expand ANU Library’s 24 hour access to Hancock Library will provide more flexibility for students, and ensure they have greater access to safe and comfortable study areas on campus,” said Roxanne Missingham.
“Chifley Library has been open 24 hours for a few years now, and we have had a very positive response to this feature of ANU Library. We have been listening to your feedback, and the decision was made to expand 24 hour access to Hancock Library.”
“We want to ensure that ANU students have access to safe and comfortable study areas on campus.”
Roxanne thanked Facilities and Services staff, Samantha Jackson, Branch Manager, Hancock Library, and Meredith Duncan, Branch Manager, JB Chifley Library for their hard work during this process.
On Friday 19 October, ANU Library announced the opening of Hancock Library 24/7 access, the Hancock Library Parents Room and the Chifley Library Digital Hub. Prof Mike Calford, Provost and Prof Richard Baker, Pro-Vice Chancellor (University Experience) officially launched these exciting new library services and spaces. Keep following ANU Library Facebook and Twitter for further updates.
We would like to thank the entire ANU community for your patience during preparation for Hancock 24/7.
