Changes to the Art & Music Library building

The Art & Music Library is now closed because of the hail remediation work on the building. The return chute at the School of Art & Design building is now closed. Please return items to one of our other branches.

You will continue to have access to subject specialist staff and some of the collection at Chifley Library.

During Semester 1 and into Semester 2 of 2024, additional essential building works will take place. We will provide updates on the Library website throughout this process.

How do I access library materials? 

A range of reference and highly used resources from the art and music collections have been relocated and are accessible at the Chifley Library. These are listed in the catalogue as being located in the Chifley, for example:

How to request an item

1. Open the library catalogue and make sure you are logged in. 
2. Search the catalogue as normal and open the record. 
3. Under 'Find in Library' will be the access options. 
4. If the item is requestable, click on the link (e.g. Borrow Printed Issue).
5. Annotate fields and click 'Send Request'. You will be emailed when your books are available for collection at the Chifley Library.

Inaccessible items

A range of music resources will be inaccessible while hail remediation work continues. This includes music scores, performance music, older print serials, the LP collection, and music monograph titles.

If you require inaccessible materials, please contact artmusic.library@anu.edu.au. We will endeavour to acquire e-copies, source them from other locations, or work with you to find alternate resources. Be aware that it will take additional time to acquire items.
