Reserve & short loan collection

Search

Overview

The reserve and short loan collection contains high-use materials, which have been recommended by lecturers as part of the reading requirement for a particular course. Materials include online articles and book chapters (e-reserve); copies of high-demand books, and DVDs.

Reserve and short loan materials are only available to ANU staff and ANU students. They can be accessed via the Library Catalogue or Wattle. For off-campus access, students and staff are required to log in via the Reverse Proxy.

Reserve and short loan collection items are either two-hour or two-day loan.

Two-hour loan items are located near the information desk in each Library branch, and can be borrowed and used within the Library. Most can also be borrowed overnight if they are borrowed within two hours of Library closing time. Two-hour loan items borrowed overnight are due back by opening time on the next business day. To book items for a specific time and date, please speak to Library staff.

Two-day loan items are located on the general shelves in each Library branch. They must be returned by close of business on the due date. Items placed in the returns chute after the Library closes may incur a fine.

For further information, please contact the reserve and short loan contact within each Library branch.
