The Mortlake Collection represents all types of material read in England during the Victorian age, and consists of approximately ten thousand volumes and covers almost all fields of interest.
The collection is particularly strong in yellow-backs, the 'railway novels' of the end of the 19th century; the 'sensation novels' published by Minerva Press; Gothic novels, and children's literature.
The Mortlake Collection is held in the Menzies Library Rare Books Room. Items can be requested from the Rare Book collection and a full list of items can be found in the Library Catalogue.
