Hail repair update

Menzies Library 

 

  • The upper roof is now complete. 

  • Scaffolding is being dropped and removed from the upper roof starting on 27 November.  

  • A crane will be onsite on Monday 27 November. 

  • Work on the lower roof is professing well. The copper won’t be installed until the roof over the reference area is in place. 

  • At this stage, the roof over the reference area will be replaced starting 27 November. This area will be closed off and access to materials on Level 1 and the Archives will be organised as needed. 

  • Carpet will be replaced in many areas starting from 18 December. Any closures will be publicised.  

  • The microform reader will be moved temporarily from the reference area to Level 1.  

  • A small additional copper roof (facing the grass area at rear of the building), has now been added to the scope. It will likely be completed in the new year. More information to follow. 
     

Law Library 

 

Level 2 remains fully closed. If you need books from Level 2, please submit a retrieval request form. 
 

Art & Music Library 

 

It is likely the Library building closure will take place in December. We will provide further updates as details are finalised.
