Link your ORCiD to your University ID - improve your research visibility

24 Oct 2019

Good news – your ORCiD ID can now be linked to your University ID through HORUS!

What is ORCiD?

ORCiD is a unique ID that provides a persistent digital identifier that distinguishes you from other researchers.

Why should I have an ORCiD?

Your ORCiD can help to ensure that all of your work is correctly attributed to you, help others find it, and help ANU to accurately identify our scholarly output.

What does this change mean for me?

If you are a staff member, or a post graduate student paid through the HR Management system, your ORCiD ID will now be stored in HORUS.

This is good news for you, as all your details will be in one spot – making it easier for you to access and update details in one go!

The University will use this information to be able to link to researcher’s publications in the ANU Library, Open Research Repository and Research Services Division systems.

What do I have to do?

If you already have ORCiD, you can add it to HORUS via the employee self-service area. The Human Resources webpage has step-by-step instructions.

Note - if your ORCiD was linked via RIMS, it will be automatically transferred to HORUS.

I don’t have an ORCiD ID!

ANU encourages all researchers, including PhD students, academic staff and research-active professional staff are encouraged to register for an ORCiD identifier.
