ANU Library Digitisation 

Digitisation at the Australian National University (ANU) supports research, teaching, and long-term preservation of physical materials by converting them into accessible and sustainable digital formats. This work enhances discovery, protects fragile or at-risk collections, and enables broader engagement with ANU’s scholarly and cultural resources.

All digitisation projects are subject to review and approval by the Digitisation steering committee which assesses proposals against Selection Criteria, with particular consideration given to copyright, privacy and cultural sensitivity, strategic value, and available resources.

Please note that this service is different from individual digitisation for students and researchers.

Digitisation services at ANU include:

• High-resolution imaging of print, manuscript, photographic, audiovisual materials, and other collection materials
• Support for research-driven digitisation projects (subject to approval by the steering committee).
• Metadata creation, standards, and guidance
• Advice on retention of University material may be sought from the ANU Archives.
