Art & Music update October 2024

Hail remediation work continues at the School of Art & Design, including the Art & Music Library branch.

The Library will continue to provide regular updates, and you can read past updates on the Art & Music updates webpage.

• We are very grateful to Facilities and Services (F&S) and Construction Control staff for all they are doing to progress work in the library.
• There have been unavoidable delays in the installation of shelving due to supply chain delays and long lead times for delivery.
• During the period until shelving can be installed:
  • collection material will be available, with library staff retrieving material as promptly as possible
  • for physical materials we are unable to access due to their storage conditions, we will strive to obtain digital or interlibrary loan alternatives
  • materials that have been moved to Chifley (higher-use and requested items) will remain at Chifley where they are accessible 24/7
  • library support services will continue to be available online, by phone, or through the Chifley Library.
• Once shelving is installed, reshelving works will commence, noting that significant clean-up is required of works borrowed in protest in 2023. We will seek to do this as promptly as possible.
• The Art & Music Library is likely to be available to students and staff from February 2025. We will keep you advised on the Art & Music updates webpage.
