Snacks, Strategies and Study Breaks: thousands join library sessions ahead of exams

17 Jun 2025

In the lead-up to the Semester 1 exam period, students across ANU took time to recharge and prepare through a series of snacks & study break sessions and sit down & study workshops

Between 27 May 2025 and 4 June 2025, a total of eight snack & study break sessions were held across Chifley, Hancock, Law and Menzies Library branches. Students dropped in for free snacks and hot drinks—taking a much-needed break to reset and refresh while studying. More than 2,300 students participated, seizing the opportunity to take a break from studying and boost their motivation.

I think this is such a great initiative to give students an opportunity to take a break while studying for exams. - ANU student

The study snacks were great! Thank you to library staff for organising this. - ANU student

In addition, three sit down & study workshops were held on 22, 23, and 26 May 2025 at Chifley Library. These sessions guided students through study strategies and time management techniques. Following a short interactive discussion led by Learning Advisers and Peer Writers, students applied what they had learned during quiet study blocks—fuelled by yummy snacks and warm drinks.

The snacks and drinks for all these initiatives were made possible thanks to funding from the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF)

The Library teams thank all students who participated, and wish them the very best with their upcoming exams.
