Art & Music Update September 2024
Hail remediation work continues at the School of Art & Design, including the Art & Music Library branch.
The Library will continue to provide regular updates, and you can read past updates on the Art & Music updates webpage.
Shelving and collection storage optimisation works are underway in the Art & Music Branch. Compactus have been removed and relocated to the Symonston Print Repository. The installation of Fixed Shelving will now commence. It is anticipated that the installation of shelving and reshelving of collection material from the compactus will be complete during October. The new storage solutions will optimise collection access and management, enabling secure storage and housing of music collection material. Building works will then be complete and the collection will be available for retrieval.
Full student access will take some further time, whilst relocation of materials temporarily housed at the Chifley branch takes place.
Access to the collection for the purposes of providing a Click & Collect service resumed in July. Much of the collection can be accessed by making a retrieval request via the catalogue. If the materials you require are not currently available, our staff will assist with interlibrary loans and document supply.
