Library upgrade update - focus groups coming soon and order processing
The ANU Library is upgrading our library management systems to improve services for students and staff. The new system is scheduled to launch on 2 August 2022.
This upgrade will provide an easier to use system, allow better access to the collection for library users, and offer greater support for education in the University.
Keep up to date with this project by reading all the previous updates.
Ordering resources
To get ready for the new and improved system, our staff are hard at work migrating data from the current system.
During the migration period, there will be a short period where we can’t place orders for collection material through our current system.
This means a delay may be experienced when an order is placed for new resources. We will have mechanisms to order urgently required resources through the migration period.
Ordering deadlines
If you need materials for Semester 2, please make sure you submit your orders by Friday 8 July.
You can do this by filling in the Suggest a Library purchase form.
Library staff are working with vendors to reduce the impact ofdelays and to make sure that resourcesspecifically needed for Semester 2 can be acquired.
If you need resources ordered after the 8 July deadline, and before 2 August when the new system launches, please fill in the Suggest a Library purchase form or contact your local branch and we will find a way to acquire the material.
Information sessions for the ANU community
We will be running information sessions in late July on the new Library Systems.
These sessions will introduce the new and improved Library search and discovery tools and provide information on how reading lists will be improved for students and teaching staff.
We will post details about how you can join sessions in a future update.
Focus group sessions
We will be holding focus group sessions with ANU academics to provide an update on how the new search interface will work and get feedback on which features will best meet the needs of academics and students.
We will post details about how to participate in focus groups in the next update.
