New vision for the ANU Library, Press and Archives

18 Sep 2018

It is important to routinely revisit our key priorities, to ensure we continue to contribute to the world-class standard of ANU by delivering results and achieving our goals.

Libraries are rightfully at the heart of our university – supporting education, research and community engagement. A new vision statement for the ANU Library, Press and Archives has been launched to frame our current priorities and future directions in an increasing complex scholarly communications environment.

“The ANU Library, Press and Archives contribute to the excellence of ANU by enhancing research, providing collections and services and building research capabilities and impact,” University Librarian Roxanne Missingham said.

“It is important to routinely revisit our key priorities, to ensure we continue to contribute to the world-class standard of ANU by delivering results and achieving our goals.”

“This new vision statement will serve as our blueprint, guiding us in all our decision making and helping us to best support our clients.”

So how does this impact you?

This vision statement is built around our clients and their needs. It will help us concentrate on the most important priorities going forward, and focus our programs and initiatives to achieve these goals.  In essence, everything we do is to best serve you as the students, academics, staff and collaborators of ANU.

Our key priority areas are:

  • Building the researcher of the future.
  • Transforming the university’s internationally significant collections.
  • Engagement of the university’s research internationally.
  • Learning and research spaces to support a high-quality university experience.
