2000s: Information
2000s: Information
Information technology, information literacy, information advisers, information sessions, information services… information overload!
Enter portable MP3 players, The White Stripes and Daft Punk.
For the ANU Library, the explosion of increasingly sophisticated and niche electronic information resources and equipment—E-journals, Databases, ArticleReach, WebCT, Millennium, E-Reserve, podcasts, YouTube, Wi-Fi, the Information Commons, and a Digital Media Suite—brought with it a greater demand for education of staff and students in their use of these resources and facilities. Tailored individual and group sessions, delivered via Info Café and the Information Literacy Program (ILP) respectively, continues to provide in-depth training and assistance.
Such developments reflect the Library’s commitment to “deliver networked information services, based on global access and rapid delivery, to the individual user’s desktop, regardless of time or location…” 1
